SUMMARY:Save our Education
DESCRIPTION:12.30-2pm GMT –  8.30-10am NYC \nRegister here. \nOrganised by Save the Children. \nOver 90% of the world’s learners have missed out on school due to the COVID-19 pandemic – they have had their lives turned upside down. This is devastating for the most marginalised and vulnerable children\, including girls\, conflict-affected and displaced children\, and those with disabilities. \nThe COVID-19 pandemic comes on top of an existing global learning crisis. Together\, we must wake the world up to the education emergency. We are calling on the international community to develop\, invest in\, and track a global education emergency plan\, ensuring that: \n\nAll children continue to learn while schools are closed through inclusive distance learning\nEvery child is supported to return to school when it is safe to do so\nGovernments and donors invest in education now so we can build back better education systems\n\nThe Save Our Education Launch will be an opportunity to hear from global leaders in education about the pandemic’s impact on children’s learning and wellbeing\, to share positive global policy and funding practices and discuss what must urgently be done to ensure the right to education is fulfilled during and after the pandemic.

SUMMARY:Webinar 3: Role of the Regional Sustainable Development Forums in ensuring open and inclusive SDG monitoring (ESP)

SUMMARY:Webinar 2: Role of the Regional Sustainable Development Forums in ensuring open and inclusive SDG monitoring (FR)

SUMMARY:Role of the Regional Sustainable Development Forums in ensuring open and inclusive SDG monitoring (ENG)
DESCRIPTION:The monitoring of delivery of the SDGs requires accountability at many levels from the local and national\, to the regional and global forums. Increasingly the regional forums are being held up as a crucial point in the review cycle to ensure comparison and effective peer learning. Many participants have highlighted the role of regional forums as being a more open space for dialogue between civil society and governments; as well as more dynamic spaces for collaboration and learning. \nThis year\, the Africa Regional Forum went ahead in Zimbabwe on 24-28 February and the UNECE Regional Forum took place in a virtual format on 19 March and UNESCAP Regional Forums has also shifted to a virtual format but other regional forums have been postponed due to coronavirus. \nIn this webinar we will hear from key coordinators involved over recent years in the regional forums and will have time for a discussion on recommendations on how to further strengthen these forums \nNotes & presentations: \nWebinars_Regional Forums 6_7_8 April 2020 NOTES \nUN Regional Forums webinar_6 April 2020 \nAbout UNECE-RCEM April 2020 \nStrengthening the Regional Dimension of SDG Implementation- Forus
