SUMMARY:Building back better for nature and people to achieve the 2030 Agenda\, through a transformational green recovery and recognising the right to a healthy environment
DESCRIPTION:4-5.30 pm GMT – 12-1 pm NYC \nRegister here. \nConvened by BirdLife International. \nThe COVID19 pandemic has brought economic and social turmoil and tragedy\, bringing a new dimension to risk and responsibility regarding nature.  To achieve the 2030 Agenda\, states must deliver transformational\, green recovery packages (focusing on both finance and policy change) which include nature-based solutions to address health risks\, climate change and biodiversity loss.  The UN\, 75 years on in a world transformed and impacted by environmental degradation\, must equally focus on a healthy and sustainable environment\, rebalancing our relationship with nature.  Case studies and perspectives from different stakeholders will inform a facilitated discussion on “Protecting the planet and building resilience”.

SUMMARY:Webinar 3: Role of the Regional Sustainable Development Forums in ensuring open and inclusive SDG monitoring (ESP)

SUMMARY:Webinar 2: Role of the Regional Sustainable Development Forums in ensuring open and inclusive SDG monitoring (FR)

SUMMARY:Role of the Regional Sustainable Development Forums in ensuring open and inclusive SDG monitoring (ENG)
DESCRIPTION:The monitoring of delivery of the SDGs requires accountability at many levels from the local and national\, to the regional and global forums. Increasingly the regional forums are being held up as a crucial point in the review cycle to ensure comparison and effective peer learning. Many participants have highlighted the role of regional forums as being a more open space for dialogue between civil society and governments; as well as more dynamic spaces for collaboration and learning. \nThis year\, the Africa Regional Forum went ahead in Zimbabwe on 24-28 February and the UNECE Regional Forum took place in a virtual format on 19 March and UNESCAP Regional Forums has also shifted to a virtual format but other regional forums have been postponed due to coronavirus. \nIn this webinar we will hear from key coordinators involved over recent years in the regional forums and will have time for a discussion on recommendations on how to further strengthen these forums \nNotes & presentations: \nWebinars_Regional Forums 6_7_8 April 2020 NOTES \nUN Regional Forums webinar_6 April 2020 \nAbout UNECE-RCEM April 2020 \nStrengthening the Regional Dimension of SDG Implementation- Forus
