Regional Campaigner – Asia-Pacific

Action for Sustainable Development (A4SD) is a joint civil society platform, which provides a space for sharing information on the 2030 Agenda for sustainable development across issues and across countries.

The network consists of more than 3,300 members from around the world, 80% in the Global South, including a diverse range of community groups, civil society organisations and activists. A4SD leads global campaign activities around key moments during the year, such as the Global Week of Action for the SDGs and the COP Climate Conference. The team is small and decentralized, working remotely but in close cooperation.

The Global Week of Action #Act4SDGs is organised in September every year since 2016, with a peak on 25 September (the anniversary of the adoption of the SDGs and coinciding with the UN High Level Week at the General Assembly ‘UNGA Week’). We highlight joint action by civil society and call for greater ambition from governments to deliver on the promises of the 2030 Agenda. A4SD has several key partners in this work: this project is financed by UNDP; and is delivered in partnership with the UN SDG Action Campaign, the Global Call to Action against Poverty (GCAP) and the One World Trust in the UK.

Our newest project, Zovu, is an online platform supporting community and citizen action. It aims to contribute to a future where sustainability, social justice and environmental protection are guaranteed. Our online space allows for NGOs, social movements and community groups to share their stories and feature their projects alongside those of others in every corner of the world.
